I'm a home owner who is having a custom audio equipment cabinet built by a local cabinet maker. My interest is to use perforated metal as the front face of the cabinet doors so that (1) it does not show the equipment, (2) it allows ventilation and (3) the IR signals can pass from the remote to the equipment. Looking at your site, this is an exact application of your perforated metal product.
As you can see from the following door in-lay dimensions, the amount of product that I desire is quite small:
9.25" wide x 20" tall (2 doors in-lays)
7.25" wide x 7" tall (4 door in-lays) As for your product, I'm looking for staggered round-hold perforated metal mesh. The type of material would be either black powder-coated steel (or plain steel that can be powder coated) or copper.
I have a few questions for you:
Given this type of application, what specific product would you recommend? What material thickness is commonly used in such a door application? Is there a US supplier that you recommend I can obtain smaller quantities of your product for use in my project? Thanks so much for any guidance you can provide.
